“Designated Activities” within the notification are described on the Immigration Bureau as follows.

(2) If you wish to have a summer job (activities to engage in the work of Japanese companies, etc. during the summer vacation period (a period not exceeding March) as a contribution to the performance of your studies and future employment)
(3) International Cultural Exchange (Participate in international cultural exchange projects conducted by local governments in Japan during the period not exceeding March when university classes are not held, and give lectures on international cultural exchange at elementary and junior high schools in Japan. 4. A foreigner is involved in a specific research activity (an activity to conduct research, guidance or education on the specific field at the facility of the institution based on a contract with a public or private institution in Japan, or an activity to specify the activity together with the activity. If you wish to conduct research in the field of research, guidance in research, or activities to manage a business related to education by yourself)
5 Foreigners engage in specific information processing activities (based on contracts with public and private institutions in Japan, at the business establishments of the institutions concerned, which require technology or knowledge belonging to the fields of natural sciences or humanities. 6 If the foreigner is a spouse or child who is dependent on a foreigner who conducts “specific research activities (in the case of 5 above)” or “specific information processing activities (in the case of 6 above)”.
7. Foreigners who wish to change from an EPA nurse candidate to an EPA nurse or an EPA certified worker candidate (including a working course) to an EPA certified worker, or after changing the place of employment, continue. If you wish to stay in Japan

11 When an international student who has graduated from a university, etc. wishes to carry out “entrepreneurial activities” after graduation
12 When a foreigner wishes to carry out any of the following activities (1) or (2)
(1) In Japan, tourism, recreation and other similar activities that are carried out by staying for a period not exceeding one year.
(2) Sightseeing, recreation and other similar activities conducted by a spouse who accompanies the person who carries out the activities of (1) while staying in Japan for a period not exceeding one year.
13 When a foreigner wishes to carry out any of the following activities (1) or (2)
(1) When engaging in work that utilizes the knowledge acquired at Japanese universities and graduate schools and high Japanese proficiency (Japanese university graduates)
(2) Activities to receive support from those who carry out the activities in (1) (family members of Japanese university graduates)
14 If you have a job offer and wish to stay until you are hired while you are still in school or after graduating from a university, etc.
15 If you wish to work as a ski instructor

If you graduate from a Japanese university and have the Japanese Language Proficiency Test N1, you can work in a workplace that uses Japanese.
In general “Engineer, Specialist in Humanities, International Services”, the knowledge learned at a vocational school or university is used.

特定活動という在留資格があり、告示内特定活動と、告知外特定活動というのがあります。
告知内特定活動は、入管ホームページに下記の様に記載されています。
１ 外国人の方が，外交官や領事官等の家事使用人（個人的使用人）としての活動を希望する場合
２ 外国人の方が，次の（１）又は（２）のいずれかに該当する場合
(1) アマチュアスポーツ選手としての活動を希望する場合
(2) アマチュアスポーツ選手の家族の場合
３ 外国の大学生が，次の（１）から（３）のいずれかを希望する場合
(1) インターンシップ（学業等の一環として，我が国の企業等において実習を行う活動）を希望する場合
(2) サマージョブ（学業の遂行及び将来の就業に資するものとして，夏季休暇等の期間（３月を超えない期間）を利用して我が国の企業等の業務に従事する活動）を希望する場合
(3) 国際文化交流（大学の授業が行われない３月を超えない期間，我が国の地方公共団体が実施する国際文化交流事業に参加し，日本の小中学校等において国際文化交流に係る講義を行う活動）を希望する場合
４ 外国人の方が，特定研究活動（本邦の公私の機関との契約に基づいて当該機関の施設において当該特定の分野に関する研究，研究の指導若しくは教育をする活動又は当該活動と併せて当該特定の分野に関する研究，研究の指導若しくは教育と関連する事業を自ら経営する活動）を希望する場合
５ 外国人の方が，特定情報処理活動（本邦の公私の機関との契約に基づいて当該機関の事業所において自然科学又は人文科学の分野に属する技術又は知識を要する情報処理に係る業務に従事する活動）を希望する場合
６ 外国人の方が，「特定研究等活動（上記５の場合）」又は「特定情報処理活動（上記６の場合）」を行う外国人の方の扶養を受ける配偶者又は子である場合
７ 外国人の方が，ＥＰＡ看護師候補者からＥＰＡ看護師又はＥＰＡ介護福祉士候補者（就労コース含む）からＥＰＡ介護福祉士への変更を希望する者，若しくは就労先を変更した上で継続して在留を希望する場合
８ 外国人の方が，ＥＰＡ介護福祉士候補者（就学コース）からＥＰＡ介護福祉士への変更を希望する者，若しくは就労先を変更した上で継続して在留を希望する場合
９ 大学等を卒業した留学生が，卒業後，「就職活動」を行うことを希望する場合
10 外国人の方が，次の(1 )又は(2 )のいずれかの活動を希望する場合
(1)病院等に入院して医療を受ける活動を希望する場合
(2)病院等に入院して医療を受ける外国人の方の付添人となることを希望する場合
11 大学等を卒業した留学生が，卒業後，「起業活動」を行うことを希望する場合
12 外国人の方が，次の(1 )又は(2 )のいずれかの活動を希望する場合
(1)本邦において，１年を超えない期間滞在して行う，観光，保養その他これらに類似する活動
(2)(1)の活動を行う者に同行する配偶者が本邦において１年を超えない期間滞在して行う観光，保養その他これらに類似する活動
13 外国の方が次の（１）又は（２）のいずれかの活動を希望する場合
(1)本邦の大学・大学院で習得した知識及び高い日本語能力を活用した業務に従事する場合（本邦大学卒業者）
(2)(1)の活動を行う方の扶養を受ける活動（本邦大学卒業者の家族）
14 大学等の在学中又は卒業後に就職先が内定し採用までの滞在を希望する場合
15 スキーインストラクターとしての活動を希望する場合
特定活動
このうち特筆すべきは
本邦の大学・大学院で習得した知識及び高い日本語能力を活用した業務に従事する場合（本邦大学卒業者）
です。
日本の大学を卒業して日本語能力検定Ｎ１を持っていれば、日本語を使う職場に勤めることができます。
一般的な「技術・人文知識・国際業務」では、専門学校や大学で学んだ知識を
生かした仕事をする必要がありますが、この特定活動１３には基本的にはその縛りがありません。
これはとても素晴らしいメリットです！
日本の大学に留学しに来ている外国人の方、ぜひともＮ１をとりましょう！
ただ、日本語能力検定Ｎ１は日本人でも結構難しい試験ですので、
外国の方が合格するのはよほど勉強する必要があるので、その点が
この在留資格の難しさです。
漢字がネックですね。
